Optimus reservations may open in early December — Musk replies "No" on X
The SF Standard, citing an expert, says Optimus reservations could open in early December — but Musk answered "No" on X, leaving the timing unclear.
The San Francisco Standard quotes robotics investor Modar Alaoui (ALM Ventures) saying Tesla could open Optimus reservations around the Humanoids Summit on Dec. 1–2. Tesla did not respond to a request for comment.
Musk reportedly replied "No" on X to the idea of a December waitlist, so the timing is speculation, not confirmed. The article also says it is unclear whether a deposit would be required.
Per the report, first shipments are expected about a year after reservations open, and Musk said on the earnings call he expects the remaining issues to be solved around the end of next year. Production has started at Fremont with a target of 20,000 units a week by late 2027, mostly for businesses with a small consumer share. For shareholders it points to Optimus commercialization, but reservation timing and terms remain unverified.
