According to Teslarati, Drive Tesla Canada, Not a Tesla App and other outlets, new 3D design assets discovered inside the APK of Tesla's Android app offer an early look at Optimus Gen 3. The assets were extracted and posted -- in a now-deleted post -- by the X account @wholemars.
The leaked assets show a new hand design along with black fairings and joint covers, giving the robot a cleaner, more "production-ready" look than earlier versions. Since this wasn't officially released by Tesla but inferred from app data, the final production design could still differ.
Tesla has been converting part of its Fremont plant's former Model S/X lines to Optimus assembly since this summer, targeting capacity of up to a million units annually. It recently sent its robotics team to Ningbo, China, certifying three component suppliers -- Tuopu Group, Ningbo Joyson Electronic and Zhejiang Sanhua Intelligent Controls -- for mass production.
