Tesla brings Grok Bot to its cars, turning voice into a hands-free personal assistant
Tesla has integrated xAI's Grok Bot directly into its in-car voice interface, letting drivers complete multi-step tasks -- ordering coffee, booking a restaurant, scheduling an appointment -- hands-free, no separate app required. The feature, currently limited to SuperGrok Heavy subscribers, also connects to services like DoorDash, Uber Eats, and OpenTable.
Tesla's in-car Grok voice assistant just got a significant upgrade. Owners can now access the new Grok Bot capability directly through the existing voice interface -- no separate in-car app needed.
Grok Bot can handle multi-step errands such as placing a usual coffee order, booking a restaurant reservation, or scheduling an appointment. It connects to outside services including DoorDash, Uber Eats, and OpenTable, opening the door to ordering dinner or making a reservation during the commute home. For now, the feature is limited to SuperGrok Heavy subscribers.
To use outside services, owners first need to link their accounts through the Grok app using Connectors -- tapping the + icon, selecting New Connector, and choosing the service to connect.
Grok first debuted in Tesla vehicles last year with software update 2025.26. Built by xAI, the assistant is now edging closer to functioning as a true personal assistant on wheels.
