Tesla: 75% of new North America buyers get FSD — 1.74M subscriptions
Tesla says 75% of last quarter's North America deliveries included FSD (55% in Q2), with 1.74M subscriptions (+67% YoY) credited for its largest order backlog in four years.
InsideEVs reports Tesla said 75% of its Q3 new-vehicle deliveries in North America included FSD, up from 55% in Q2. The headline says 'subscribe' while the body describes inclusion, so the two measures may differ.
Tesla reported 1.74 million FSD subscriptions, up 67% year over year, excluding free trials and including one-time purchasers; the figure also appears in the 8-K. About 875,000 people worldwide pay $99 per month, which InsideEVs estimates at roughly $1.04B a year. Purchases passed 50% of FSD sales for the first time.
Every new car includes one free month of FSD. Tesla has not disclosed churn and says it will share it later. FSD remains 'Supervised' and is still awaiting regulatory approval in Europe and China.
