Tesla targets customer Cybercab deliveries by year-end, VP says on Q3 call
VP of Engineering Lars Moravy said on the Q3 call Tesla is trying to get Cybercabs to customers by end-2026 — but all current output goes to Tesla's own Robotaxi fleet, so early deliveries look small.
Teslarati reports Lars Moravy, Tesla's VP of Engineering, said on the October 21 Q3 call: "We're trying to get Cybercabs to customers by the end of this year, 2026." Reuters separately reported the same day that Tesla aims to sell Cybercabs by year-end despite a federal probe.
All units now in production go to Tesla's internal Robotaxi fleet, so initial customer deliveries are expected to be small. Musk mainly frames the Cybercab as a 'transport-as-a-service' offering, with most units staying Tesla-owned.
Tesla previously signaled a target price around $30,000; this report gives no new price confirmation. With regulators lagging, early buyers or fleet operators may face geographic limits on autonomous operation. Unsupervised FSD for personal cars is guided to Q2 2027 by Ashok Elluswamy.
