CME launches near-24-hour single-stock futures on Tesla, SpaceX and 53 others

Jul 28, 2026 · Original CNBC ✓ Confirmed by 2 outlets

CME Group relaunched single-stock futures on 55 large-cap names — including Tesla, SpaceX, Nvidia, Apple and Micron — enabling nearly 23-hour, five-day trading starting July 27, giving investors a new way to react to earnings and news after the regular session closes.

The new contracts are cash-settled, letting investors take leveraged long or short positions without borrowing shares or paying financing costs. They come in two sizes: standard contracts (100 shares) and micro contracts (10 shares) for smaller accounts.

Trading runs on CME's Globex platform from Sunday evening through Friday afternoon, nearly 23 hours a day aside from a roughly one-hour daily maintenance window — far longer than the standard 9:30 a.m. to 4 p.m. equity session.

Tesla is among the 55 names covered, giving Tesla shareholders a new venue to react to earnings or breaking news after the regular market closes. SpaceX, which went public in June, is also included, adding another route to leveraged exposure.

CME Group had previously exited the single-stock futures market before this relaunch with a 55-name large-cap lineup.
