Turo launches FSD-enabled Tesla rentals Oct. 28 — a low-barrier test drive
Turo will start renting verified FSD (Supervised)-enabled Teslas in the U.S. on Oct. 28 — a rental-car route to trying FSD that could widen the funnel to subscriptions.
According to Turo's Oct. 26 press release, thousands of FSD-enabled Teslas are already listed on the platform. Turo confirms each car's FSD status through a linked Tesla account and API integration and shows it on the listing.
Model 3 and Model Y are the third- and fourth-most popular models on Turo this year. Eligible U.S. hosts also get a free one-month FSD (Supervised) trial. The release names no cities and no rental rates.
Turo CEO Andre Haddad said most travelers have had limited opportunity to experience driver-assistance technology, citing Turo research that 55% of Americans (71% of Gen Z) are interested in driverless technology for travel. Guests are urged to review Tesla's FSD (Supervised) documentation and safety guidelines before pickup.
